We take old donated bikes, some vintage, and convert to a street legal electric conversion which has a 40-50mile + range and an assisted speed of 15mph. We aim to convert 5 more. One being a trike and one a folding bike. These will be offered free to Shedders on loan, on their own risk, to aid health and wellbeing and reduce social isolation. The kits cost around £450 to £550 plus ancillaries to make the donor bike serviceable. We hope to also build a solar charging station to charge these bikes so it doesn’t cost or use carbon fuelled power. |
